York City Church will host a reunion on Sunday, June 18th @ 4:30pm for anyone who has ever been on a Work and Witness trip and their family, especially EJAM Work and Witness trips. Special speakers: Rev. Ron and Cossett Grey. Please bring pictures of your trip to share.

Latest UPDATE from Pastor Kent 

"Over the years our church has been generous in its' support of missions. The generosity of our congregation has resulted in the completion and dedication of the Jamaica District Center but we have depleted our project funds to accomplish this. Project funds are used to pay for the work materials, equipment needed to perform the work and onsite local labor. Over the next few weeks we need to raise $5,000.00 to take with the Youth Work and Witness Team leaving July 7, 2017. (I will be providing more details during my June 18th sermon). These funds are accumulated and dispensed with each team it is recommended we send $10,000.00 per trip. FRESH BLESSINGS @ YORK CITY CAMPUS

Fresh Blessings is a continuing partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the York City Campus with a commitment to provide fresh, nutritious produce and food to people of our community. 

So many families are struggling to choose between paying the mortgage, health care, or paying for utilities so we are blessed to be able to provide healthy and nutritious food to our community. The beauty of Fresh Blessings is that it has transformed our giving at City Church.

A true relationship with God is transformational.  When we encounter the living God, he transforms the way we think, the way we feel, the way we act. One of the most important transformations that happens in the Christian is the transformation in his thoughts and feeling about stuff, possessions, money, and riches. One of the greatest challenges to being in a transformational relationship with God is the world’s pressure to view God and people in a transactional way.

Deuteronomy 26:1-11

We are being transformed as we give sacrificially.

We are giving in a transactional way when we give out of comfort.

When the Israelites gave their first fruits, it was an act of thankfulness for what God had done in the past and an act of trust for what God is going to do in the future.

Deuteronomy 26:12-15

We are being transformed as we give regularly.

We give in a transactional way when we give out of convenience.

For the Israelites, the tithe was a discipline intended to keep worship of God and service to others as part of the fabric of their existence.

Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 13:15-16, Acts 5:1-11

We are being transformed as we give everything.

We give in a transactional way when we give only some things.

Jesus set the example of holding nothing back.

And here is the beauty of it all… As you are transformed in your giving, God transforms the world through you.
