"Jesus is always in favor of compassion and
connection with all people.” Pastor Bud Reedy
Pastor Kent's 10pm pickup of donations |
Although rarely making headlines, there are daily efforts to extend compassion to the York
community. Two days ago we observed Pastor Kent making his regular 10 pm pick
up of donations from West York Panera. These donations are given away weekly at the York City Campus.

For more than 53 years, the
York Rescue Mission has offered food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance
for the poor and needy of York County. We were surprised at the number of connections between our church and this organization. Check out this partial list
of Stillmeadow people involved at The York Rescue Mission.

Audrey and Ken Brubaker give proceeds from their popular book sale to York Rescue Mission. (The last book sale raised over $10,000). Held twice a year, the next book sale is October 14-15 at the York Alliance Church @ 501 Rathton Road, York, PA. (Ken also works part time at the York Rescue Mission store in Dallastown).As you can see, many Stillmeadow Nazarenes join the Rescue Mission in their stated goal;
"Service above Self and to be Christ-like; inviting men, women and children to accept the Savior whom God sent into the world (John 3:16). We meet the basic human needs of the many we serve, as well as equip, train, nurture and guide them toward a better quality of life."
"Jesus is always in favor of compassion and connection with all people.”
