THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Almost twenty years ago,
Dianne and Bill Sheeley started a children’s puppet ministry in their former
church, eventually developing workshops for Children’s Ministries and traveling
both locally and to churches along the East Coast.
CONNECTS TO THE NAZARENE
CHURCH
While attending Children’s
Ministry University (a yearly conference in Michigan) they met Mariam Hall,
Head of Children’s Ministry for Nazarene Church. Mariam showed Dianne the Nazarene Children’s
Ministry Curriculum and Dianne was impressed.
THE JOURNEY TO STILLMEADOW
It’s interesting that Dianne
passed Stillmeadow Lane on her way to and from her job at York Bank. One day she
saw construction of a church at the corner of Susquehanna Trail and Stillmeadow
Lane and mentioned it to Elda Dixon, a co-worker at the bank. Elda said it was
a new campus for the church she attended which was currently on Pine Street in
York, PA. She also mentioned that the church had a Day Care Center, which
caught Dianne’s attention since she had a daughter. It wasn’t long before her
daughter Ashley was enrolled in the Pine Street Nazarene Day Care, and Darlene
Judd became her teacher. This was the connection that eventually brought Dianne
and Bill to Stillmeadow, more than 16 years ago, and Dianne eventually became
Children’s Pastor.
RETIREMENT CELEBRATION
On July 3, 2016 Pastor
Dianne will be retiring from her role as pastor at Stillmeadow. This will give
Dianne and Bill the chance to travel again, this time to small and middle sized
churches – showing them how to do kids ministry on a shoe string. Dianne will continue
to be involved at Stillmeadow in the areas of Fellowship and Visitation.
PRAYERS AND VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
Dianne and Bill ask for your
prayers and want you to know they will need a team of volunteers to help with
fellowship and visitation ministries. Interested in helping? Please email Pastor
Dianne at pastordianna@stillnaz.com.
On July 3rd we will
celebrate her time of ministry at Stillmeadow in all three services. Please
mark this date on your calendar.
