Our story for today
highlights another “connection” - this one between our newest pastor at
Stillmeadow and the York Revolution Baseball Team.
Greg Lloyd recently was
named Associate Pastor of Worship and has begun serving as pastor for the early
service. He is also a member of the Stillmeadow Praise Team and coordinates the
monthly Saturday morning Stillnaz fellowship breakfasts.
Pastor Greg puts new meaning
into this year’s “Faith and Family” Night at the York Revolution. Besides serving
as the team statistician, he also brings faith to the team by serving as
assistant chaplain. The family part? Greg and his wife Lynn were married in the
stadium and both are still employed by the team! You can click HERE to view their 2007 wedding.
Born in Panama, Greg Lloyd was
part of music ministry at an early age. He was a member of the gospel trio “The
Lloyd Family” and sang in churches throughout the Eastern United States.
Called into ministry in 2011,
Greg felt he might be too old at 58 years to become a pastor, so he asked God
for a sign. The following week during a worship service interview, Pastor Bud
asked Terry Krebs how old he was when he began his studies toward ordination.
Terry’s reply? “I was 58 years old”. That was God’s answer to Greg’s request.
After extensive study and
formal review by the Ministry Assessment Center and Board of Ministry, Pastor Greg
has received his District License and is working toward ordination.
“As I begin my pastoral journey, I will always look to Pastor
Bud Reedy as a mentor and source of inspiration and wisdom. He was there for me
at a critical point in my life, and his advice to me on the
difference between shame and guilt literally helped save my life.” Greg
