Adult Ministry Director

At the board meeting last Monday evening, Pastor Bud Reedy appointed seven people to serve as new Ministry Directors for the year 2017. Over the next several weeks we will learn more about each of these volunteer leaders.
  1. Adult Ministry Director, Wayne Rumsey
  2. Outreach Director, Randy Schiller
  3. Fellowship Director, Lori Weaver
  4. Adult Discipleship Director, Dale Clymer Jr.
  5. Recreation Director, Scott Mingus Jr.
  6. World Mission Director, Pastor Isabell Clark
  7. Prayer Ministry Director, Elaine Leiphart
Today's Friday Feature will focus on our New Adult Ministry Director.
Who is Wayne Rumsey?
"Greetings! I'm Wayne and my wife is Lisa. We have one son, Tyler, who is 15 years old and we've attended Stillmeadow for over 15 yrs. I'm a Correctional Deputy with 20 years experience and my wife has been a Juvenile Probation Office for 15 yrs. My current hobby is learning to fly my new drone."

What does an Adult Ministries Director do?
"I work closely with the Resource Pastor for Adult Ministries, and promote and coordinate programs for adults from marriage, (adults 18-29 yrs.) through senior Adults 50 plus years). Also, I give oversight to the various leaders and ministries which are a part of Adult Ministries including: Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Marriage Enrichment, Classic Club, OneBody (18-29 yrs.) and Single Adults."

What got you interested in Adult Ministries?

"My feeling that God had more for the life he gave me. I enjoy interacting with people and hosting social events and I've always had a hunger to learn about God and want to encourage others to do the same."

What drives you to be involved in this ministry?
"As head of my household I'm responsible (and will also give an account) of how my wife and son are spiritually fed. I believe strongly that the enemy seeks to destroy families - but "He can't have mine"! And as a Christian, I am charged with the responsibility to share Christ's love and Compassion with everyone."

Next week we will learn more about our new Outreach Director, Randy Schiller.

So what did we learn from last Sunday's Underdog sermon about Gideon? Check out these helpful takeaways:

1. God uses tough times to get our attention.
2. God sees the battles/ struggles ahead clearly.
3. God confirms His promises when we need Him most.
4. Effectiveness is due to God’s power, not ours.
5. God prefers Underdogs because they do not boast of their own strength and ability but    brag on God’s strength. They give God credit.

(You won't want to miss Pastor Bud's sermon this Sunday, January 15th about John the Baptist, who could have been a star but knew that the Father wanted him to be an underdog for Jesus sake)
