Twenty-five
years ago Rev. Ron Grey stood on a property in Jamaica and prayed that God
would open doors for a new District Center. The vision that began in Ron’s
heart was captured by Stillmeadow’s Work and Witness team during their first
visit to Jamaica - and a wonderful eight-year “E-JAM” partnership was born.
Ron Grey was born in
Westmoreland, Jamaica and in 1979 committed his life to Christ. In 1983 he was called
into the ministry; attended Bible College in Trinidad and graduated from
Caribbean Nazarene College. While at Youth Camp he met a beautiful lady named Cossett,
and they were married. Cossett is now in pre-retirement, having taught at Pennbrook
Hall High School for 37 years. Ron and Cossett have two children; Ronero (25)
who has a degree in Business Administration and Chantay (23) who is currently
teaching.
In addition to serving as
District Superintendent for the East Jamacia District, Rev. Grey is a trustee
on the board of Caribbean Nazarene College. He is also senior pastor of
Boulevard Church. His biggest challenge is to unify the hearts of his leaders
so that everyone finds the center of God’s will together.
Ron is most fulfilled when
he sees a plan come together, like the new district center. The new facility will
be a retreat for pastors, couples and church groups. It will also provide
on-going theological training for the East Jamacia District. The building is
almost complete and will be dedicated in March of 2017.
Rev. Grey is quick to say, “My dream would never have become reality without
Stillmeadow. I consider the new district center a little bit of Heaven on
Earth.”
